Recruiter

The Recruiter Strip is awarded to a Cub Scout the first time he is successful in getting a friend, relative, classmate, or other acquaintance to join his unit. One strip is awarded to a boy when he is a Cub Scout; he can earn another while he is a Boy Scout. The strip is worn below the right pocket on their uniforms. Scouts that recruit a new member during special national recruiting drives can be awarded a special collectible "Scout Recruiter" patch. The design varies from time to time. An example is shown here.
