How much does it cost?
The cost to the Pack for a year of programming is approximately $180 per Scout. This includes a portion due to BSA for administrative management, leader training, background checks, programs such as the Shoot-o-ree or Scout Camps, and facilities that we use every year such as Camp Lazarus. It also includes books, T-shirts, awards, belt loops, Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta kits, facility rental fees, and supplies for Pack and Den meetings. (For transparency purposes, our Pack accounts are available for review).
Families have the option of paying some or all of the January $80 dues by participating in the Popcorn Sale. We earn 32% of the money made from popcorn sales. Thus, if a Scout sells $250 of popcorn, they will completely cover their January $80 dues (32% of $250 = $80). If a Scout sells less than $250 of popcorn, 32% of their sales will go towards their January $80 dues and the balance will need to be paid by their family. If a Scout chooses not to participate in the Popcorn Sale, the January $80 dues will need to be paid by their family.
In addition to teaching Scouts how to interact with adults, market and sell a product, and the value of money, Scouts can actually earn money through participation in the Popcorn Sale. If a Scout sells more than $250 of popcorn, 16% of the excess will be kept by the Pack, but another 16% will be placed in escrow for that Scout to use for any Scouting related expenses, including purchases from the Scout Shop, fees for Scout activities, or even September or January dues the following year! Funds in escrow for Scouts can travel with them if they transition to other units, but will remain with the Pack if the Scout ends participation in Scouting.
New Scouts will need to purchase a uniform (see below). Some activities, including our campouts, require an additional fee. Occasionally we will have potluck style events where each family is asked to bring food.
Most importantly, no child will be denied participation in our Pack because of an inability to pay dues. Payment plans, scholarships, and other options exist for families with extenuating circumstances. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to explore these options and rest assured that the strictest confidentiality will be maintained regarding financial matters.

Class A uniforms are to be worn at Pack meetings and events where we may face the public (ringing the Salvation Army bell, for example).
Class B: Pack 333 T-shirt. Class B uniforms are to be worn at Den meetings and other designated Pack events. (T-shirts provided, and paid for, by Pack funds)
