I am an Assistant Professor in Data Analytics at the University of North Alabama.
Mathematical Econometrics: especially Quantile and Expectile Regression theory,
Empirical Macroeconomics/Finance/Risk, including Bayesian methods and time series forecasting.
I have a passion for Interdisciplinary Research, especially topics relating to energy and the environment. Occasionally I write about birds.

I am the recipient of many academic awards, including multiple division-wide Civilian of the Quarter awards at USAFA, CITL's List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent or Outstanding (for the top 10% of instructors universitywide) some dozen or more times, the Scott M. Elliot Graduate Scholarship, and the Actuarial Science Committee's Best Statistical Project award. I have received the CITL's Outstanding award for in-person teaching as well as online teaching.
At UNA, I teach quantitative methods and core graduate and undergraduate classes in data analytics.
At USAFA, I taught Econometrics I, Econometrics II, and Advanced Econometrics. My past teaching portfolio includes Economics of Energy and Public Policy, Comparative Economic Systems, Individual and Social Choice, Using Regression and Econometric Methods, Principles of Economics, and the Economic Forecasting course that I taught for several years at UIUC.
From 2017-2019 I served as chair of the UIUC Macroeconometrics brown bag seminar (the department's only seminar series with a catering budget).
I am closely engaged with the undergraduate community and serve as an active mentor. Currently, I am an undergraduate advisor at USAFA. At Illinois State, I served as the Faculty Advisor to the Virtual Reality Club from 2014-2016. I have also been an invited speaker at the UIUC Economics Club and the UIUC Consumer Economics and Finance club.
