Scouting for Food - Sunday, November 6, 2016
The BSA's Annual Scouting for Food drive will be underway soon. Scouting for Food is an important service project where Scouts from all over the National Capitol Area go out and collect food donations for area food banks.
Our Pack goes door to door for food donations in the Maplewood and Wyngate neighborhoods. As a reward for the boys’ hard work, we will follow up the food collection with an Ice Cream Truck at a Maplewood-Alta Vista Park (5209 Alta Vista Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814).
Reward: 3:00 pm at Maplewood-Alta Vista Park parking lot. The ice cream truck will be parked on Alta Vista Rd near the entrance to Maplewood Park. We will have free treats for scouts and
siblings and we ask for a $3 donation for any adults that would like a treat.
We can continue to collect food until the morning of November 12, 2016 – when we must weigh and deliver the food to the BSA drop-off. There is box on Phil Minnick’s porch (6004 Wilmett Road, Bethesda, MD 20817) where you can drop off food up until 8 am on November 12, 2016.
In addition to dropping the food off at Phil Minnick’s house, scouts can deliver the donations to the Scouting For Food drop center at the William Bolger Center in Potomac, MD on November 12.
