Advancement and Arrow of Light Ceremony

Join us for our end-of-year ceremony where our Cub Scouts will be awarded their Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos badges. We will also have a special ceremony with Boy Scout Troop 461 to present the Arrow of Light Award to our graduating Scouts. Plan to stay for S'mores after the ceremony!

When

Friday, June 7th at 7:00 pm. (please arrive by 6:45 pm)

Our program will end by approximately 8:30 pm.

Where

The ceremony will be held at the Robert C McDonnell Campground at Cabin John Regional Park. The entrance to the campground is at 7701 Tuckerman Lane, Rockville, MD 20854. This is the stretch of Tuckerman Lane that runs between Westlake Drive and Seven Locks Road. (NOTE: Our location is NOT the Cabin John Group Picnic Area but it is near this area) The campground entrance is located next to a six car parking lot right off Tuckerman Lane.

To access the campground, you will drive over a one lane cement bridge that crosses Cabin John creek next to Tuckerman Lane. Follow the gravel road to the first camping parking area (for campsites 1,2,6&7). Additional parking is available along the gravel road before and after the campsite parking lot.

Back Up Location

In case of rain or too much mud, our back up location is our regular Pack Meeting location at the Wyngate ES APR. In case on rain, please watch for an email on Friday early afternoon to confirm the location (Cabin John or Wyngate).

What to Bring

Wear good walking shoes for the trails to the campsites. You may also wish to bring camp chairs or blankets for seating during the ceremony and please bring a flashlight. And don't forget the cameras and rain gear if there is a chance of rain!
