Spring Campout

Our annual Spring Campout is upon us! A fun-filled overnight trip that not only promotes teamwork and fun, but also helps complete some advancement requirements for the Cubs. The campout is open to the entire family - Moms, Dads, Brothers and Sisters are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Where

Patapsco Valley State Park – Hilton Area

Patapsco Valley State Park is a Maryland state park extending along 32 miles of the Patapsco River to the south and west of the city of Baltimore. The park encompasses multiple developed recreational areas on over 14,000 acres of land.

We are camping in the “Hilton Area” of the park, at the Leonard and Pindel group campsites. See, "Hilton Area Campground Map", below.

When

EARLY ARRIVALS*: FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2014, 4:00 P.M. AND LATER

PACK ARRIVAL: SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2014, NOON

*FRIDAY ARRIVAL: Webelos I and others will be arriving early on Friday to work on advancement and have fun! Please check with your den leader if you want to arrive on Friday. Everyone is on their own as far as activities, and meal planning for Friday evening dinner, Saturday morning breakfast and lunch.

Directions

From I-95, take exit 47 (keep left on exit ramp), heading north (Route 166) to South Rolling Road. Follow 1.8 miles and make a sharp left on Hilton Avenue. Continue 1.5 miles and turn right into park

Noon – 1:45 p.m. Arrival and set up

2:00 p.m. Hiking, “Boulder Hopping”, and other Fun Stuff!

4:00 p.m. Den activities (work on those skits) and more exploring

6:00 p.m. Dinner

      • Black Beans

      • Rice

      • Fruit (Apples and Oranges)

      • Water

      • Cookies for Dessert

      • S'mores by the Campfire

8:00 p.m. Campfire

Each Den will lead a campfire song/skit/story/activity, so please let your Den Leader know if you have an idea or want to help lead something (we love volunteers!).
