Just 6 days until launch! Plan to meet at 12:30 p.m. sharp on Sunday, December 6th, at the Visitor's Center on ICESat Road at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (Akela will definitely want to click this link for correct directions). Pack 1461 will provide one rocket engine, igniter, and parachute wadding per Cub Scout or sibling with a rocket -- and we'll help you get your rocket all prepped for launch on-site! Remember to wear your uniform! We will be outdoors, so dress accordingly.
Check out our Pack Link for all of the details!
In addition to launching our model rockets, we'll be able to spend time in the Goddard Visitor's Center where you can view real NASA spacecraft, see some cool space science results, climb in an actual Gemini spacecraft, play with some spacecraft simulators, and view a cool three dimensional "science on a sphere" movie.
So Cub Scouts, put the finishing touches on your rockets, write your name on them and BE READY TO HAVE A BLAST with your Cub Scout buddies in just 6 days!
STILL NEED HELP WITH YOUR ROCKET'S FINAL ASSEMBLY? Bring your rocket and the remaining pieces to this Friday's Pack meeting and have our model rocketry experts lend you a hand.
