June 2, 2025

June 4: Initial Supervisory Observation meeting on Wednesday, June 4th at 1:00 PM via Zoom (Observation Practicum Meeting for CSD 321/406). 

During this session, we will:

• Walk through the observation process

• Address your questions and clarify expectations for the summer

Please come prepared with any questions you may have regarding your practicum experience.

For any clinic appointments that cannot be met, students will need to complete a Request for Absence Form.  On this form, you will indicate the date and reason for not being able to attend a clinical appointment—this case it will be the June 4th, June 24th, and July 15th meetings for CSD 321 and CSD 406. Submit this form to Mrs. Horton and E. Phillips Embden to review.

Summer 2025 All-Attend Orientation--CSD 321/406

Welcome to the Summer 2025 Term!

There will be a mandatory Summer ALL-ATTEND Meeting on Wednesday, June 4th at 1:00 PM via Zoom (ALL ATTEND ADVANCED PRACTICUM MEETING SUMMER 2025). This orientation is required for all students participating in summer practicum placements. During this meeting, we will review important information related to your clinical rotations, including expectations, timelines, and procedures. Attendance will be verified, so please plan to attend.

April 14, 2025

(1) Please adjust your schedules to attend the April 22nd, Tuesday--ALL ATTEND: Next Tuesday, there will be an in-person ALL ATTEND meeting in Carver Complex North, Room 109. Mrs. Kimberly Dykes from Madison City Schools will be delivering the second portion of the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This meeting will serve as the "April 24th" meeting as indicated on your syllabus.

(2) May 7th, Wednesday--CSD Pinning Ceremony: All students graduating in Spring and Summer 2025 are asked to submit the following by April 18th.:

• A photograph

• Your hometown information

• Your plans after graduation

• Your response to the CSD Pinning Ceremony Survey--CSD Pinning Ceremony Survey

• Your response to the Punchbowl CSD PInning Ceremony (both the CSD Pinning Survey and Punchbowl invitation acceptence must be completed).

Please send this information to Ms. Phillips-Embden by the deadline. We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments.

Hello CSD 406

We will meet this week on Tuesday instead of Thursday at 5-6pm. On March 25, Tuesday, in CCN Room 109, Mrs. Kimberly Dykes from Madison City Schools will be delivering a special presentation on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).This session will be practical and hands-on, as Mrs. Dykes will bring several AAC devices for you to explore and practice with directly. Attendance and engagement are important, and this is a valuable opportunity to gain real-world experience with AAC tools. This meeting will serve as the "March 27th" meeting as indicated on your syllabus.

Hello CSD 406. Assistant clinical experiences begin this week.  Please contact Ms. Phillips Embden if you have not been contacted by your assigned graduate clinician. Also, your first progress note on your Master Clinician client is due by March 21st per the syllabus timeline.

February 22, 2025

Hello CSD 406.  By now you should have received your clinic schedules.  You should be hearing from your graduate clinicians this week.  If you have not heard from them by end of day, please let Ms Phillips Embden know. We will not be meeting this week due to Initial Supervisory Conferences.  You should be meeting with your assigned graduate clinician and attending supervisor.

January 23, Thursday: CSD 321/406-Practicum I and II student orientation meeting will be from 5–6 pm in CCN rm 107.
