New Students
Welcome to Creekside!
Helpful Tips For New Students….
Morning Waiting Area
· Gates open at 8:50 AM each morning.
· 6th graders wait in the area by building 4 each morning.
7th graders are to wait in the gym each morning before school…seated in the bleachers.
· 8th graders are to wait seated in the courtyard...near the cafeteria.
Cafeteria
· Breakfast and lunch are free to all students and served each day.
· Lunch…walk to the cafeteria….seats are not assigned.
Media Center
· Open most mornings to read a book, work on the computer, check out a book, or study.
· Teachers will bring classes to the media center periodically as well.
Transition Time between classes
· There are 4 minutes between classes.
· You can go to your locker as often as you want as long as you are on time for class.
Dress Code
· Shorts/Pants – shorts must be mid-thigh …rips and tears are NOT allowed.
· Shirts – must cover the shoulders and midriff.
· Shoes – closed toe and heel required.
· Hats are not allowed on campus.
Electronics
· Cell Phones and electronic devices – should be off from first bell in the morning until the last bell of the day unless your teacher gives you permission to use it.
· If you need to call a parent or guardian, ask your teacher for permission. You can come to the house office and call. You shouldn’t be using your own phone.
· Technology is not allowed at lunch.
· All students will be checked out a laptop. Policies and appropriate procedures will be discussed with students.
PE
· Students who take PE have it every day.
· PE uniforms are required and dressing out/changing into your uniform is part of your participation grade.
· Appropriate shoes are required as well.
· Keeping extra deodorant in your locker is a necessity.
Electives
· Students who take PE will have one elective class every day. If you do not take PE, you can take two electives…based on availability, but one must be a performing arts elective.
· Performing Arts electives (band, dance, chorus, and piano) require some practice and performance time outside of the school day as well as some extra cost.
End of the Day
· If your bus is in the bus loop, stop at your locker to obtain everything you need for homework and head to the bus.
· If your bus is not in the loop, you will wait in the cafeteria for your bus number to be called.
· Most busses are in the bus loop by 4:25…make sure you are in the cafeteria, so you can hear your bus number being called.
Enjoy your first week!
