Awards

The Dissertation Award highlights important original research by scholars recently awarded with doctorates. This award is to support dissertation research that fosters critical analyses of issues in early childhood education and childhood studies and to encourage the development of alternative perspectives and curriculum in the early childhood education and care field.

The Emerging Scholar Award is given to a scholar-researcher who is making significant contributions to early childhood education on national and local levels. The award is to highlight important work in early childhood, to impact tenure possibilities for critical researchers looking at issues in early childhood education, and to bring attention to the work of critical perspectives on early childhood education in the larger context of educational research.

The Distinguished Career Contribution Award is given to a scholar-researcher who has made significant and sustained contributions to the understanding of critical perspectives on early childhood education on local, national, and international levels.  This award honors scholars whose work has informed and influenced critical inquiry in early childhood education and whose work draws attention to the work of critical perspectives on early childhood education in the larger context of educational research.
