About Me

I am a Senior Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a U.K. Registered Counsellor. I am also member of the BACP coaching division and have qualified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I have tutored on Counselling courses, from certificate to degree level, and facilitated groups, workshops and seminars on a regular basis.

My approach to therapy is primarily client-led and integrates person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive methods into the therapeutic process. I am a qualified addictions counsellor and have extensive experience in group work as well as working with families and couples, having set up one of the first family and adolescent programmes in this country. My knowledge of family systemics has informed my work with groups and my belief in the power of the group to repair unresolved difficulties stemming from the family of origin

I have a strong belief in the ability of the individual to change even if this involves challenging core beliefs and questioning long-standing coping strategies. I believe that the courage and willingness to risk making changes allows for new possibilities in our lives which can be highly rewarding and fulfilling. I am committed to bringing the healing and sustaining powers of the natural world into the therapeutic arena and believe that the more we can integrate with our natural environment, the healthier, both physically and psychologically, we become.

My specialities are Individual, Couple and Family therapy, Relapse Prevention and running a successful Intervention service. I also work with couples aiming to prevent conflict rather than having to resolve it later on - hence COUPLE-LIFE.
