Regular massage is not a luxury or indulgence. It is an affordable treatment to care for your body & your well being, which will help you lead a healthier, happier life. RELAXATION is good for first time recipients of massage as well as those who are fatigued or stressed. Soft and gentle pressure is used to ensure a sense of comfort & well being. Soothing music & aromatherapy provides a perfect atmosphere to ease your worries & relieve your stress. Your entire body will feel at ease and relaxed at the end of the session. You're only one massage away from a good mood!
DEEP TISSUE techniques are utilized to affect the sub-layer of muscle tissue and fascia. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation, and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. Deep tissue techniques may be combined with other massage methods if spot work is only needed on a particular area.
Note: If you only want deep tissue massage, the muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep-tissue massage. Otherwise, tight surface muscles prevent me from reaching deeper musculature. So, massage with an electric percussion massage tool will be performed on each area before moving into deep tissue methods.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE is a treatment for muscle pain and immobility. Myofascial release involves applying gentle pressure into connective tissue and fascia. (Myo means muscle tissue. Fascia is a structure of connective tissues that surround muscles, blood vessels and nerves.) Myofascial release techniques may include gentle or heavy pressure, rolling of the skin, or cross friction on the muscles, often without any oil or lotion. Slow movements combined with sustained, focused pressure on an area will help the tissue to stretch & release.
Spoil yourself with a SPA massage! Various body treatments are administered to pamper you. Facial masks, foot soaks and/or scrubs, coconut oil infusions, hair wraps, and other treatments are available - upon request.
Please indicate what services you would like done when you set the appointment so the right products may be procured ahead of time. Also, advise me of any allergies, please.
SWEDISH MASSAGE is one of the most popular types of therapy. It manipulates the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. The specific techniques used in Swedish massage involve the application of long gliding strokes (effleurage), kneading (petrissage), friction, vibration, and tapping (tapotement). Active or passive stretching & movement of the joints may also be part of the session. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation , decreased stress, release of muscle tension, and improved range of motion.
THERAPEUTIC touch is applied in an assortment of medical situations. Utilizing specific treatments appropriate to working with disease, pain, and recovery from injury, I work from a physician’s prescription or as an adjunct healer with a doctor or physical therapist.
Note - therapeutic massage requires specific details from your health care provider to ensure there are no contra indications for massage. A written plan must be provided when booking your session.
TRIGGER POINT therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the application of pressure to specific points of the body in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Pain experienced in one part of the body may actually be caused by an injury or issue in a different part of the body. I will work with a map to target your body's trigger points and the subsequent pain that radiates to the rest of the area. This method may sometimes feel intense, especially when dealing with tender muscles. We will communicate throughout your session to ensure therapy is efficiently applied to the correct points in your tissue.
Combine massage methods to meet your individual needs.
