The Annual “Excellence In Education” banquet serves not only to celebrate excellence, but also to give businesses, organizations, and individuals from our area the opportunity to recognize excellence in education, and show their support through sponsorship of the banquet with the school districts of Cornell and Lake Holcombe, the Cornell/Lake Holcombe 21st Century Community Learning Centers and the Cornell Area Betterment Association.

    Once again, we will pay tribute to three outstanding seniors from the Cornell School District and three from the Lake Holcombe School District.  Four of these students are selected primarily on the basis of academic achievement (grade point average and the rigor of their program) and the other two student awards will be given to seniors who have exhibited extraordinary qualities and effort (above and beyond what is considered normal or expected.)  When choosing the students, school personnel are strongly encouraged to take into consideration demonstration of other important attributes such as leadership, community involvement, and positive attitude. Each of these six students will in turn choose an educator who has clearly impacted their education in a constructive manner.  We will also be recognizing one educator from each district for their contribution to education.
