Denver Area Council Camporee - Sept 21st and 22nd
The Denver Area Council will have its quadrennial camporee on September 21st and 22nd at Pleasant Valley Scout Ranch. It is shaping up to be a fun day with scouting activities, shooting sports, an attempt a world record, pin trading, and more. Several families are planning to attend for the day or overnight in concierge camping. Webelos have also been invited to attend with Troop 12. We will coordinate a caravan so our campers will be together. Register at http://www.denverboyscouts.org/councilcamporee.
Aquarium Overnight - Nov 8th
This year we will be going to the aquarium for our fall overnight. See details and sign-up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0448a4a72baafe3-20191. Space is limited to the first 50 participants. Sign-up closes on October 7th. Please note that this is a different program than the one we attended in summer 2018.
Popcorn Sale - Starting Sept 7th
Our annual popcorn sale starts on Sept 7th. We will have our annual kickoff on Aug 26th so we can hit the ground running. Trail's End has an awesome new app that we will be using to drive our sale this year. The app should make selling popcorn more efficient and easier for all. In preparation for popcorn season, please download the app at https://app.trails-end.com/. A big thank you to Heather Meyer for leading the popcorn sale this year!
King Soopers Fundraiser
Join the King Soopers Neighborhood Rewards program and raise money for your scout's dues, uniforms, and activities. See the attached handout for instructions. If you submit quarterly statements from your account, your scout will get credit for half of your earnings to use toward dues and other scouting expenses.
Returning Scouts Don't Forget to Update Scoutbook for Summer Fun
Have you updated Scoutbook lately? If your scout attended the camping trip or Colorado Adventure Point, he or she probably completed some adventure or award requirements. If your family went on any fun outdoor adventures (hiking, camping, swimming, etc.) or visited any fun places (libraries, museums, parks, historical monuments, day camps), your scout probably completed some requirements. Please take a few minutes to check out Scoutbook and mark off requirements. This will help ensure your scout gets all the awards they earn this year. Let me know if you have specific questions about how your activities fit into your scout's rank.
