Chemistry
Green Chemistry is very important to all of us and should be a part of all chemistry classes. Here is a link to the American Chemical Society's information on Green Chemistry: 12 principles of green chemistry
When taking my Chemistry test for teaching, I needed a solid general chemistry text. What I found was an excellent online textbook that you may find helpful. It can be used as an additional resource or a different way of presenting material. The website also has its own link for students. Feel free to check it out. Chemistry Virtual Textbook
Here's a few helpful websites if you're looking for more practice examples or different ways to explain topics:
BozemanBiology - youtube videos on science subjects (there is information on both Chemistry and Biology, as well as Physics and Earth Science)
Crash Course - biology and chemistry videos (many other topics as well)
If you want to learn more about the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide, which surrounds us, check out the DHMO website. You can learn about potential dangers and warn you friends and family. (wink, wink - go to the website to get the inside scoop!)
A final link that every Chemistry teacher should have - a link for Mole Day (10/23). Past years' themes and the current theme, and theme song, are posted here. A couple of facts and jokes are listed - yes, chemists occasionally do have a sense of humor. This day was first officially celebrated in 1991, not 1971.
