- Connect the essential ideas in this quotation to the contemporary political world in which we live.
- In what ways might people in the contemporary world really behave like the individuals suggested in this quotation?
- What historical events have the same characteristics as the events embedded in this quotation? Consider themes here, since themes are ideas about life in general.
- What might be the consequence for our own society if people act the way these characters do?
- How does the story address U.S. dominant ideology? Is it critical of U.S. ideology or does it build U.S. ideology? How?
