- 2008 the National Register was updated and Congaree gain some new national champ and sadly lost some. The trees that made the new 2008-2009 national champ are the: Laurel Oak Quercus laurifolia

- Swamp Tupelo Nyssa sylvatica var. biflora

The Eastern Native Tree Society Spring Measurement Expedition at Congaree NP in South Carolina will be held February 20-23, 2009. They will be sizing and measuring the trees something not to miss! You can learn more about this by going to the web site in the link page.
