We want all of our students to feel comfortable onstage, and we want our audience to remember us for what we sing, not what we wear. Our goal with Concert Attire is to provide uniformity and professionalism in our visual presentation, while allowing students freedom to choose their own items. Concert Black is a music industry standard, but must meet school dress code as well.
ACCEPTABLE "CONCERT BLACK" ATTIRE OPTIONS:
Short or long-sleeved collared shirt, tucked in. Black polo shirts are acceptable, and don't have to be tucked in.
Black dress pants or slacks.
Black dress shoes (black socks should be worn with pants/slacks).
Black dresses (at least knee length)
Black blouses w/ black skirts (at least knee length).
NOTE: No other color but black can appear anywhere. If skirts/dresses are not ankle length, students should wear black tights/leggings underneath. No bare legs onstage.
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE UNACCEPTABLE:
Jeans (even black ones).
T-Shirts.
Hoodies/sweatshirts.
Plunging necklines/cleavage.
Tennis Shoes. (Vans, Converse, etc. are not dress shoes!)
Black shoes with a non-black sole visible on the side.
Combat-style or work boots (e.g. Doc Martens).
