What are we doing for new Term Autumn 2020 ?

Statement

Hello everyone,

We're still here, and can't wait to restart the coding sessions! However, in light of the current situation and the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, in order to ensure a safe environment for the students and the volunteers, we have decided it's best to postpone the commencement of this season's Dojo until a later date.

Please monitor our website, Twitter,Facebook and the mailing list. We will be posting & sending further communications as the situation continues to develop once we finalize the plans to go back to the Dojo.

Don't forget that you can still access many learning facilities available online and continue the coding journey. Check our website at https://www.coderdojocastleknock.com/virtual-dojo for a list of resources.

If you have any questions during this time, please contact us on https://www.coderdojocastleknock.com/contact/ask-us-a-question

Thanks again for your support and interest. Stay safe.

Options examined

  • In-Person Sessions - if a club can continue meeting in person, then they can run as previously, provided they comply with any guidelines required by their venue and local health authority. ( change in Government guidance re Dublin made this redundant )

  • Online Session - You can run online sessions using video conferencing or live-steam tools. In online sessions, young people work on a project together, or they work independently. Volunteers support them to code in real-time.

  • Remote Activities - are projects and challenges that you send to young people for them to complete at home. This option is particularly suitable if members have limited access to computers or good-bandwidth internet.

We will review position at end of term .
