Thanks to everyone who has entered the Coolest Projects online showcase so far! We’ve had a great start to this year’s event, with over 50 awesome projects already registered via our website and uploaded to our Scratch studio.
We’ve been delighted with the creativity and imagination of the entries, with projects focusing on everything from the environment to learning via technology. Communicating with others is also proving to be an especially popular theme.
We’ll be launching our online gallery soon, so no matter where you are in the world, you can help us celebrate the effort, enthusiasm, and creativity of young makers!
Remember: You can register your project up until midnight (BST) on 28 June 2020. It doesn’t need to be completely finished, but it should be a project you are happy to showcase, as you will be unable to submit further changes after uploading it.
Be sure to read through our step-by-step guidelines before you submit your project.
Check out Digital Making at Home series of free, weekly code-along videos for young people.
We have over 30 cool projects to inspire you, from games, apps, and hardware, to music, storytelling, and digital art. Some of our most popular Digital Making at Home projects are based on ways to care for yourself (and others) during stressful times.
Why not create your own bubble wrap popper or a self-care chatbot?
The Digital Making at Home team also hosts a weekly live stream at 2pm (BST) every Wednesday. You can submit questions to the team via Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter via Periscope. Head over to the DMAH website on Wednesday to find out more!

Coolest Projects launched in 2012 to celebrate the creativity in clubs around Ireland. Fast forward seven years, the global community now spans over 160 countries. In 2019 there were over 500 projects presented at Coolest Projects International and more than a third of the creators were girls.
Now, with the Coolest Projects online showcase, young creators all over the world can share their projects with the global digital making community. Taking part has never been easier!
Wherever you are in the world, we can’t wait for you to help us shape the Coolest Projects online showcase this year!
