We’d like to invite young people from Dojos worldwide to create a project with the word BOO in mind. How does it work, you ask? The project you submit has to incorporate BOO: bats, orange, or October! That means that your project can be about anything you want, so long as it includes at least ONE of the following:
This is the end of the line for this year. No crying now, because we will be back in January. So here are some pointers to help you decide on what to do next.
If you are interested in how to start programming and an introduction to computing, then Exploring IT using Micro:bit is for you..
If you are interested in circuits and hardware, then Microelectronics with Arduino is for you.
If you are interested in writing apps for a smartphone, then App Inventor from MIT is for you.
Note nobody absorbs all information first time around, so if you want to redo a stream, then that’s cool. Still not sure ? Either ask us or this might help.
If you want a challenge, start thinking about a project for Coderdojo Coolest Projects International
Coolest Projects International is a world-leading showcase for young innovators who make stuff with technology. If you’re up to 18 and you’re making something with technology for fun, to solve a problem, or as a creative outlet, then we want you to come out and share your project with us!
Registration opens in mid-January. Young people can register for Coolest Projects International in the months leading up to the event.
The 2019 event was a huge success! More than 680 young creators from 15 countries came to share 550 projects with one another and with more than 5000 members of the public attending. It was one of the biggest Coolest Projects yet!
We will be restarting in mid January. In order to attend, you must register and have a ticket. The good news is, this is free !
We will be sending details of how to do this on our email contact list around a week before we restart. What do you
mean you are not signed up to our email contact list here?
We want to give every one an early Christmas Card, but as we are a CoderDojo, its an electonic one made with App Inventor.
To see how its done see here
For anyone doing microbit, here are some challenges
( yes, we will provide example answers, but only after Christmas.
.... some time later ...
Its after Christmas, so here are answers - but look at the challenges first ! )
For anyone curious where we either got microbits or arduino kits, look here
If you want to see other app inventor projects, go to app inventor gallery and look at these.
