Faith For Today

"Love and faithfulness keep a king safe" (Prov.20:28).

For our lives to be enriched, we must carry with us a great amount of faith. I would like to approach faith on three levels today.

First, we must have faith in ourselves. Many are doomed to mediocrity because of lack of faith in self. In the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25 we find the sad story of the "one talent man." What he had was taken from him because of a lack of faith in his own abilities. His response in verse 25 was, "I was afraid." He was afraid because he did not have enough faith to "step out of the boat" We can't walk on the water if we don't. Let's not be defeated by a lack of faith in ourselves. Success comes in "cans"; failure comes in "can'ts." Paul had it right!! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13).

For life to be further enriched, we must have faith in others. We just can't live in a bubble of self-sufficiency. We must let others in and have a trust in them....A faith... Paul entrusted much to others to help in carrying out the Lord's mission. Look at his faith in Timothy. "I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him who takes a genuine interest in your welfare" (Phil. 2:19&20). Faith in others keeps us from being soured on the world.

For total enrichment, we need faith in God and His Word. It is this faith that enables us to have the great hopes of life. Faith in the knowledge that God wants the best for us. Faith that He desires all men to come to Him. Faith in His great promises. Faith that He forgives us of our sins. Faith that our needs will be supplied if we seek Him first. Faith that everything works together for good for those who love Him. Faith that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us in eternity.

Faith is the fuel that keeps our spiritual engines running. The more we have, the better we function....Have a wonderful week....Keep the faith.....Love mark Phil. 4:11
