In 1958 Buzz Woodward took me to two of his races, one in NC and one in central Pennsylvania. As a young kid it planted memories I still think about today. On the way back from a race in Central Pa, we were going up the Gap hill. Buzz had to ride in the stock car as there wasn’t enough room in his truck for three of us. A car in the front of us kept slowing down so we would pull out in the passing lane to pass it. That car would then speed up so we slowed up to get out of the passing lane but he slowed up again. The third time this happened, buzzy started the stock car, put the pedal to the medal and we shot around that car like he was standing still. Buzz always took care of my parent’s car as well as mine. In 2009 I came back to Coatesville to visit Buzz and talk about the old days before his passing.

Our Name & History
Many often wonder about our name, “Midway Grill”. Midway was the original name for the town of Coatesville. It was called Midway because the town is located “midway” between Lancaster and Philadelphia and was the primary stop for anyone traveling between the two cities back in the early 1800′s.
The Midway Grill was established in 1955 when George Lalogos purchased a hot dog shop that was located in Coatsville since the 1920′s. The Zambaras brothers, Constantinos and Theodore, acquired the Midway Grill in 1966 and it has been in our family ever since. We are no longer affiliated with the Coatesville location.
We moved to our current location in Thorndale in 2003 and have been proud to bring the famous Midway hot dog & cole slaw. And many other delicious soups, sandwiches & platters to the Thorndale area. Come in and become part of the Midway family!
