Invest the time to re-wire yourself differently. Inspiration inspires.
Our soft modern lives lull us into complacent grooves. As a species we are regressing as the body becomes less and less important. We need to be jerked out of the sludge. We need to learn to access the wonderment of the instantaneous present. Mind and body must unify to generate maximum performance.
Intense physical exercise offers a way in which to fold inner space, to access advanced levels of consciousness. Intense exercise short circuits the conscious mind, allowing advanced states of meditation consciousness. The key to routinely access this bliss state is to present ourselves with physical tasks of such severity that only by unifying the body and mind can we succeed.
Only by continuously assaulting the barricades of the status quo can we hope to improve those limits and capacities. Through training we can learn to effortlessly access this ‘mind of no mind’ via intense physical exercise.
When the chattering monkey mind returns, the bliss ends. One strategy to maintain the bliss is to roll from one absorbing task to the next: training to writing to cooking to running in the woods to music to careful reading...one creative task after another--then pass out at night in a regenerative sleep coma. Wake and repeat.
Krishnamurti: The cessation of thought is the awakening of intelligence. Experience reality--reality always unfolds in the immediacy of the instantaneous present.
If we are thinking, we cannot perceive the immediate present. Conscious thought exudes an inky film that blurs the perception of reality. We cannot use the conscious mind to silence the conscious mind. An enforced mental silence is no silence at all. At some period the clenched fist must unclench.
Wim Hof’s way to access the instantaneous present is simple. Exposure to the cold has the power to transport us into a wondrous state of higher consciousness. Mind and body must morph to cope. Wim’s method is fast and simple. Take the plunge and commit.
The key to getting better is to find out 100% of our max and try to do 102%. Routinely, regularly and systematically exceed current capacity.
By willing the self to constantly push past current capacity, we develop strength of mind. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger--and more muscular and far more rugged. Push past the known, step off into the chasm. Dare to struggle, dare to win.
We can fold inner space and experience the exhilaration of living in the present tense reality by submerging in an icy lake, a meditational practice as profound as any. “The cold-merciless and righteous.” and its body shocking severity, slaps the mind into silence.
The breathing and cold are the causes-the feats and health benefits are the results. Fall in love with the cause and the results inevitably occur. The ones that succeed are the ones who fall in love with the training, not the applause.
The breathing and the cold transport us instantaneously into the present, and an altered state of higher consciousness. When we access the present , we access higher forms of consciousness. Use the method to quickly attain reality. Experience the exhilaration of living in the thought free, super sensitive, ultra-alert, stress-free present (Samadhi) “Live with eyes wide open in the instantaneous present"--Marty Gallagher
