Forty One. The Philosophy of Physical Capital
Physical capital is the sum of all our training, nutrition and recovery tools.
Begin to consider the importance sleep holds in muscle building and fat burning. Sleep drives out the catabolic forces in the body. We can add to our physical capital account every day in some different way.
Questions:
What is your max front squat, deadlift, snatch and bench press?
Do you know how to do a front squat, deadlift, snatch and bench press?
What have you eaten for breakfast the last thirty mornings?
Definitions:
Sorta Max. The heavy lift we do in the gym and call it a day.
Max. A good day on a big lift.
Max Max. The top end we took months to build up for.
Max Max Max. Usually done in competition.
Summary:
To adapt program to our needs focus on the big lifts for two months. Get a max max bench, squat and deadlift. If unable to deadlift double bodyweight, take about six months getting there.
Make an honest evaluation of equipment. If it calls for four bars and we don’t have four bars, then we can’t do it.
Taking aside a few minutes every now and again to assess our physical capital-both our short comings and assets--is pure gold. Mine it.
