Thirty Seven. Goals and Toilet Seats. A men’s room epiphany.
Take a step back and rethink our goals through the lens of what we actually believe. We must look for our answers through the lens of our goals. The one minute manager:
Look at goals.
Look at behavior.
Do they match?
Does our behavior match our goals? One of our long terms goals should be to live long term. Health is the optimal function of all the organs. If something isn’t doing what it’s supposed to inside us then it doesn’t matter how well we perform physically. Belly fat is a killer. Don’t let it build up. If we crave alcohol, then we need 28 days off from drinking.
If our behaviors do not match our goals, we either need to change our behaviors or change our goals. Success lies at the crossroads of goals and behaviors.
We can only succeed if we know exactly what our goal is. Always ask, what is our reward for getting our goals? We must tie what we expect to get rewarded into the goal setting process.
