Quadrant 3:
Where most of us live.
It is about managing options.
Most of us move from Quadrant 1 to Quadrant 3 and stay there.
Economy of time. If we have about one hour to train each day.
Life is simple and needs balance.
Don’t get caught up in the new, shiny program (UFC, NFL, Etc.). Everything works for about 6 weeks.
Train a handful of qualities to excel at our sport.
Technical work is strength work; strength is technical.
The two qualities flow and build on one another.
Mastery in the weight room carries over to the sport, which brings knowledge that carries back to the weight room and then back to the field.
Seek to master both aspects as complements to the other.
The relationship is dynamic/fluid, not 50/50. More like 80/20 Technical Mastery/Absolute strength.
Fat Loss/ Body composition. Diet and Food preparation must be linked tightly to the exercise (strength) program.
A mix of quick and strength lifts is effective. They all work:
olympic lifting
powerlifting
strongman training
highland games
power bodybuilding
