Chapter 8 - Which Quadrant is your goal in?
The role of a strength coach is to coach strength. The impact of a strength coach is based on four quadrants and two continuums. The number of qualities an athlete must have to excel at their sport and how good the athlete needs to be at each of those qualities determines which quadrant the athlete falls in. Categorizing helps determine what needs to be added to a program and what needs to be ignored
The Four Quadrants
In Quadrant Two everything works. Everything ‘probably’ works. Learn to manage compromises. We can do or cut anything and it may or may not work. Hold faithful to the basics but don’t be one dimensional. Quadrant Two athletes need to be guided by an overall challenge of excellence. Success in Quadrant Two comes from excellence in everything we do.

Step 3: Evaluate and assess your team.
“One cannot win over time without a real vision of what is crucial.” John Wooden.
Consistently look at the mission and goal while sifting through new ways to accomplish the mission and goal. The mission is to keep the mission the mission. The goal is to keep the goal the goal.
