What are your gaps? Assessment # 2. Mobility and Strength standards. Find out the level of competency in the movements. This is how we find out Point A and what point B should be. The untrained or de-trained person can often complete ‘expected’ level in the first training session. If a person is able to perform all six moves at a game changer level, then concerns are not in the weight room: the person is clearly strong and balanced enough to do just about anything. If you have a team full of game changers that isn’t winning--the problem is not with the strength coach. If you max out at one test and fail at another, it’s a clear indicator of the direction we need to be taking: Movements we are not doing are what we need to do. Exception is the Farmer Walk--no matter how well you score, keep challenging yourself to go further.
