(04) Grade the Mirror
Use the Farmer’s Walk and Broad Jump to determine if the training program was a success. The Farmer’s Walk grades work capacity. If the Farmer’s Walk goes up, the program was a success. If the Farmer’s Walk goes down, capacity has been lost. The Broad Jump grades athleticism. If the Broad Jump goes up, the program was a success. If Broad Jump goes down, take a closer look at what was given up (from training block to training block.) If both numbers go down: you have a problem.
Common Questions
The Pillow question: How many pillows? The more pillows means more mobility issues. If more than one pillow is needed to be comfortable there is a mobility issue. The FMS is a next step.
Ongoing assessment. Test something every two weeks and watch for improvement.
The 300lb. Question? If over 300 lbs. insist on a medical visit. Everybody should have an active medical history.
Test success. If all tests are passed (rare) train like a six: mobility and strength are always good. Encourage participation is some type of sport.
The purpose of the assessment is to clear the road map for the next 3 to 9 sessions. Discover what is needed, not simply wanted.
