12 rules to live by (adapted from Craig Ballantyne’s 12 Rules)
I get up and go to bed at the same time 7 days per week (4am.) I consume no caffeine after 1pm and no alcohol 3 hours before bedtime. If I have to stay up late, I still get up at the same time but follow the Spanish solution. I take a nap after lunch.
I drink 2 cups of water and move for 5 minutes first thing in the morning. Then, I learn or create: read, write or draw for at least 60 minutes every morning.
I get to work early. I spend the first 15 minutes of every work day identifying problems and possible solutions. I take my solutions to the boss (I never take problems.) I keep a log of everything I do throughout the year that goes above and beyond what is asked of me. I take this log with me when discussing my end of the year performance review.
I always act polite and courteous and I don’t swear (in public.)
I create and review a ‘to do’ list at the start and end of each day and complete a gratitude journal at least three times/week
I do not engage in confrontation. If I’ve offended, I apologize and fix it. Then I turn the page. If someone attempts to offend me, I choose not to take their evil spell. I suffer fools gladly.
I recognize that nothing matters and that everything ends. Suffering will end, learn to endure. Good times will end, learn to appreciate them while they are around.
I have personal responsibility. Everything in my life is either a product of something I have created or have allowed to happen to me. I must accept the consequences of my actions.
I will help 10 million people transform their lives
I will fight for what I want so that what I don’t want doesn’t take over.
I will keep the child in me alive.
I will be impeccable with my word.
