Instructed graduate and post-doctoral students at sea on current oceanographic methods used for measuring plankton biomass (i.e. Chlorophyll, ATP, Particulate C, N, P and Si).
Instructed students at sea on oceanographic instrument and in situ array deployments and recoveries.
Instructed students on the analyses of Chlorophyll, ATP, and Particulate Phosphorus in the laboratory.

Sailed as guide and deck crew between Ushuaia, Argentina - Antarctica - South Georgia, Tristan Da Cunha - Cape Town, South Africa for a total of 7,432 nautical miles.
Conducted lectures on board in Oceanography and topics related to the Southern Ocean, Antarctica, and plankton ecology.
Performed hands-on educational activities which included plankton tows and wildlife site visits.
Led and helped coordinate zodiac tours and landings ashore which included hiking excursions, exploring historical sites, and wildlife viewing.

Marine science educator aboard the S/V Spirit of Massachusetts, in the Caribbean.
Developed curriculum and instructed undergraduate students in coral reef ecology, ichthyology, sea turtle biology, rainforest ecology, maritime literature, sailing, and seamanship.
Coordinated both aquatic and shore-based education activities including rainforest expeditions, snorkel excursions, and Caribbean cultural diversity in the towns and museums.

Guide for 3-mile kayak tours through the mangrove lagoons of St. Thomas.
Educated students on the ecological and economical importance of mangrove preservation.
Responsible for the safety of all students while kayaking and snorkeling.

NOAA Hawaiian Monk Seal Volunteer Watch, Poipu Beach, Kauai. July 22nd 2001- September 2001
Monitored Hawaiian Monk Seal mother and pup born on July 22nd, 2001.
Ensured safety of mom and pup by minimizing disturbance from humans, dogs and other animals.
Constructed fences and posted signs appropriate distances from hauled out mother and pup monk seal.
Recorded in a logbook the daily activities of mother and pup (i.e. nursing, swimming, resting).
Educated the public on the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal and their natural history.
