BIDCOFU: Panel data 2020-2021

June 2020 Survey (BIDCOFU, baseline, wave 1)

  • What is it?

    • It is a survey on approximately 1,500 UK respondents in Prolific, an online platform that connects researchers with participants, who get paid cash for taking part in research. Conditional on participating in the survey, the sample is representative of the UK population with regards age, sex and ethnicity (see Oreffice & Quintana-Domeque (2020) for details). The survey was launched on 19 June 2020, three months after the beginning of the lockdown on the 23 March 2020, and the focus is on wellbeing, perceptions and behaviours in Covid-19 times.

    • Some questions were based on the Covid-19 study and others were based on previous studies cited in Oreffice, Sonia and Climent Quintana-Domeque (2021) "Gender Inequality in COVID-19 Times: Evidence from UK Prolific Participants", Journal of Demographic Economics, Volume 87 , Issue 2 , June 2021 , pp. 261 - 287 DOI: https://doi.org/10.1017/dem.2021.2.
