TOPSoccer Information

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PRACTICE?

There will be one practice before we begin our game schedule in order to help the athletes become familiar with the procedure of  playing soccer.  When the players arrive the buddies will help them with warming up and skill activities.  Feel free to stay close to your child until he or she feels comfortable.  We encourage you to share information with the buddy that will help them in assisting your child.

DO ALL PLAYERS PLAY?

One of the goals of the Top Soccer program is to be as flexible as possible in order to make the experience a positive one for each player. We try to accommodate to each child’s skill level and encourage players to play the way they feel most comfortable.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED?

The athlete should wear the provided shirt.  The athlete may keep the shirt.

WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE A GAME?

We encourage you to have your child at the game at least 10 minutes before the scheduled game time.  Your child should check in with the registration desk.  If your child’s buddy is not present, a coach will assign an adult to assist him or her during the warm up time.

WHAT IF THERE ARE TIMES MY CHILD DOES NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE?

As mentioned previously, we try to be very flexible and there is never pressure for your child to participate.  We realize there are times when children are tired or upset and we want you to feel comfortable making the decision about your child’s level of participation.  Please let your coaches know how they can be helpful in these situations.
