I grew up in the heyday of postwar aviation near the LA Airport. My father, Chuck Graham, was a production test pilot for North American Aviation and schmoozed with famous pilots like Bob Hoover, Chuck Yeager, Frank Tallman, and the Doolittle Raiders. So I guess it's in my blood. In 2012, after retirement, I joined Civil Air Patrol to get back into flying after a hiatus of 30 years. It's a great community service opportunity--in addition to the occasional search and rescue missions, we transported thousands of test samples during the COVID response effort. And as New Mexico Wing Safety Director, I'm pretty busy. In partnership with two other people, I own a RV-7A and had a hand in building it. It was completed in 2018 and is great fun to fly.
