Children
City Heights' Children's Ministry provides your children with a loving, sometimes loud environment in which they can learn about God, His love for them, and how they can love others. We use adult volunteers to minister the love of God through example and teaching the Bible’s principles to our children. We make every effort to ensure their Church experience is both meaningful and fun.
Kids Club
Kids Club is our main weekly children’s event. Children ages Pre-K to 6th grade meet for supper every Wednesday night at 5:30 in the fellowship hall (along with the youth and adults). At 6:00, we have music and story time where our volunteers will share a bible story and lesson for the children. After the story time, the kids will have the opportunity to move on to craft and gym time. Children's activities end at 7:00.
Acolytes
Children and youth may serve as an Acolyte for the 11:00am worship service or other special services. Responsibilities include lighting and extinguishing the altar candles.
Cry Room
A "Cry Room" is available during the Sunday morning worship service, to provide an alternate location for parents needing to tend to a restless infant or child outside of the sanctuary. Services can be seen through a window and heard through speakers located in the "Cry Room".
Summer Program
During the summer months, the church hires a part time intern to hold weekly events during the summer. Once a week, our intern will plan a lesson or field trip for the children. Keep checking back for program times.
Church Camp
What would summer break be without church camp?
Every summer, City Heights takes the youth and children to Shoal Creek (located only about an hour from Van Buren) for a 3 day camp. Our camp ministry is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to engage children to discover how wonderfully God has created them through organized play, music, story telling and art.
Be sure to check our calendar as Summer gets closer, so you won't miss out on this great camping experience.
