Planning in the Infrastructure Roadmap for ACECC Countries
Date: November 16, 2020
Time: 0500 to 0600 New York time
As part of the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) resolution 4 /5 on Sustainable Infrastructure, the UN Environmental Program (UNEP) has developed an internationally applicable Good Practice Guidance Framework on integrated approaches to sustainable infrastructure. This framework presents ten guiding principles that are intended to help governments and other decision makers incorporate sustainability into all phases of infrastructure planning and development. Planning is key to ensuring that the right infrastructure projects are done.
As background for the TC 14 Seminar in March 2021 and CECAR9 in 2022, this webinar will review and discuss the UNEP framework for ACECC countries and the role of planning in "...a sustainable infrastructure roadmap tailored to the Asian region and supportive of the UN SDGs."
The webinar will begin with a presentation by Rowan Palmer UNEP on the UNEP framework followed by discussion by TC 14 committee members on how the framework is being or could be applied in their country.
