J. Humberto Sossa A. 

I received the BS degree in Communications and Electronics from the University of Guadalajara in 1980.

I obtained my Master degree in Electrical Engineering from CINVESTAV-IPN in 1987 and the PhD in Informatics form the INPG, France in 1992.

I am currently a full-time professor at the Center for Computing Research, of the National Polytechnic Institute from Mexico since 1996.

I am also Head of the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory of
the Center for Computing Research, of the National Polytechnic Institute.

I have three books, one pattent and more than 350 publications in international journals, books and national and international conferences.

My research areas (basic and applied) are Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis, Artificial Neural Networks, Service Robots, Sapce Robots, Smart Cities and Autonomous Cars.

I belong to National Research System level 3.

I am a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.

I am a Senior Member of the IEEE (Senior), and member of ACM, INSTIC, AMIAC and AMEXCOMP and AIM.

On May 29, 2017, the community of UACJ dediced to stablish the "Cátedra Patromonial Juan Humberto Sossa Azuela". I deeply apprecitate this acknowledgment to the community of UACJ.
