teaching

I teach graduate and undergraduate students in three programs at UTC: undergraduate political science, Master of Public Administration, and the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management. My courses have to do with things like research methods, program evaluation, applied organizational theory, nonprofit management, and public policy.

I've also written a free social science research methods e-textbook, available at https://scholar.utc.edu/oer/1/. It's suitable as a textbook for undergraduate research methods courses, for self-guided review as a supplement to that kind of course, and as a quick review for students preparing for more advanced study in research methods.

Here's a sampling of my syllabi (though current students should always consult their actual course syllabi, not these):

POLS 2260 Introduction to Public Policy

PANM 2050 Introduction to Statistics for Public Administration and Nonprofit Management

POLS 2000 Research Methods

POLS 5020 Public Administration Research and Analysis I

POLS 5120 Organizational Theory and Administrative Behavior

POLS 5430 Nonprofit Management
