About Me

Hi, I'm Christina! I earned my PhD in Developmental Psychology from UCLA and BA in Psychology from Northwestern University; after my PhD, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My academic research has examined specific mechanisms through which language can act as an agent of cognitive change. For example, my work has investigated how variability in language knowledge and exposure (e.g., in monolinguals and bilinguals) influences higher-order cognitive processes such as categorization, cognitive flexibility, and induction.

Currently, I am a research scientist at IXL Learning. My work at IXL is informed by learning theory and examines how educational technology impacts student achievement, especially in the context of remote learning and the COVID-19 pandemic.
