I am a Senior Economist in the African Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to this role, I worked as a (Senior) Economist in the Commodities Unit of the IMF's Research Department (2016-2025) and as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Economics at the University of Birmingham (2014-2016). I began my academic career as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Spatial Economics at VU University Amsterdam.
I obtained a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University, an MPhil in International Economics and Business from the University of Groningen, and a BSc in Economics from the Radboud University Nijmegen.
My main research interests are in the fields of (1) environmental, resource, and energy economics, (2) international trade, and (3) applied econometrics.
