I am currently an Economist in the Commodities Unit of the IMF's Research Department. Previously I was employed as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Economics at the University of Birmingham. Before going abroad, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Spatial Economics at the VU University Amsterdam.
I obtained a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University, an MPhil in International Economics and Business from the University of Groningen and a BSc in Economics from the Radboud University Nijmegen.
My main research interests are in the fields of (1) environmental and energy economics and (2) international trade, with an emphasis on the relationship between trade, natural resources and the environment.
