May the souls of the faithful departed Rest in Peace by William Afonso
“Human Beings are we. And as the law of nature is no one born will live forever but will have to die some day.” The Roman Catholic Church commemorates two important days in the month of November both coming towards the last week’s of the Church’s Liturgical Calendar. On Nov 1st the church celebrates the Feast of All Saints in Honor of those who lived devout lives and are now for sure in Heaven. The Next day the church commemorates All souls day. On this day mainly 2 things are done.
1) Remembering that we all will die one day and will be judged for our actions on Earth
2) Praying for the souls in Purgatory who are being purified by Fire till they enter heavenly Bliss. Since our Church teaches us the 4 final things, Judgment, Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. All of us need to avoid Mortal sin which if not repented for will lead us to hell eternally and perpetual separation from God. Minor sins are purified in Purgatory and there is sure Hope that a soul in Purgatory will reach Heaven someday. Remember in this century itself through the Marian apparitions at Fatima and Lourdes as well as the Divine Mercy revelatiosn to St. Faustina Kawaloska the Existence of Heaven, Hell and Purgatory was confirmed.
