About the Safe at School campaign
The Safe at School campaign is run by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) > More about SPUC. We advise and support parents and teachers who are concerned about the explicit nature of sex education in schools, which is priming children from the age of five to become sexually active. Parents are also worried that secondary schools are promoting contraceptives and abortion services to their children.

Do you know what’s going in your child’s primary school?
Explicit sex education in schools is priming young children to become sexually active once they reach their teens, or even before. Sex and relationships education (SRE) in secondary schools is directed towards teaching teenagers where to get and how to use contraceptives and abortion services. > Use our list of questions to help you find out what is happening in your child's school
SPUC’s position on sex education in schools
SPUC is not opposed to sex education programmes where the school is supporting the parents in teaching their own children about puberty and sexuality. SPUC is opposed to sex and relationships education (SRE) which is sexually explicit and which promotes sexual activity and the use of contraceptives and abortion services among school pupils.

Christopher & Pauline Powers' fight against "Living and Growing"
Christopher Lee Power (pictured) and his wife Pauline are campaigning to alert parents to the type of explicit sex education their children could be receving in school.
In particular, they are calling for schools to give parents full information about the content of sex education. Mr and Mrs Power felt deceived by High Bebington Junior School in the Wirral. The school sent out a letter telling Year 5 parents that the lessons were about puberty. Instead the children were exposed to explicit sexual material contained in the schools' programme "Living and Growing" which is produced by Channel Four. > Press coverage of the Powers family campaign.
Join other parents in taking action against "Living and Growing"
Parents in other parts of the UK have gone public on their outrage at the use of "Living and Growing". > Stories from Potters Bar in Hertfordshire and Leghorn in Lincolnshire.
