Our laboratory specializes in the development of innovative optical sensing, imaging, and micro-nano manipulation technologies and devices for biomedical applications, particularly focusing on creating methods for point-of-care testing (POCT) that are fast, sensitive, simple, and affordable.
Our research primarily targets applications in (1) disease diagnosis and health monitoring, (2) food safety testing, (3) environmental testing, (4) drug and toxin detection, and (5) fundamental biomedical research.
By integrating technologies from fields such as photonics, engineering, nanotechnology, materials science, chemistry, biomedical science, instrumentation, and artificial intelligence, we aim to develop (a) innovative biosensing technologies, (b) rapid test strips and technologies, (c) nanomaterials for biosensing, (d) methods to enhance the performance of existing biosensing technologies, (e) portable biochips and systems, and (f) innovative biomedical imaging technologies.
Our research topics include surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), optofluidic biosensing and micro-nano manipulation technologies, localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) biosensing technologies, biomedical imaging techniques, and portable biomedical instruments or devices.
