Learning Guides: At Westmount, the documents that steer the delivery of curriculum.
Parents, Guardians and Students:
The CHC2D learning guides are available for students to access online in PDF format. The purpose of giving students access to CHC2D LGs via the internet is threefold: a) students are able to access their course learning materials more readily, better serving their individualized learning needs and styles, b) students conserve resources and reduce costs by accessing materials online and c) students gain experience with accessing course materials digitally - a skill that they will need to develop for future high school and post-secondary academic pathways.
Notes: How to Begin The Course
Before endeavouring to complete a course that is rooted in inquiry learning, students must have a sense of what this means. For this reason, CHC2D begins with LG#1A) titled "The Historian's Handbook". In this learning guide, students will complete activities that will both introduce them to inquiry in terms of historical studies (the A strand in the CHC2D curriculum document) and the structure of the course's learning guides.
Inquiry Projects - Process and Success Criteria
You will be using the inquiry throughout the course and using a specific process to complete three inquiry projects. The process and success criteria are outlined in the Google Document below.
