History/Mission
Charlotte County Retired Educators Association (CCREA) is a member
of District 7,of the Florida Retired Educators Association (FREA).
CCREA History
Twenty retired teachers met November 1, 1973 at the home of Mary Agnes Farmbrough to form
Charlotte County Retired Educators Association. Installation of officers was held on November 16, 1973.
Officers were - President: Capt. Ward Brock; Vice-President: Beatrice Finney;
Secretary: Mary Agnes Farnbrough; Treasurer: Helen Waters.
Charter members included: Bernice Conrad, Katherin Eaton, Minta Harper, Fern Herndon, and Elise Kinsey.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Charlotte County Retired Educators Association is:
A. To help retired school employees maintain an interest in education to advance the welfare of retired school employees.
B. To provide scholarships for future teachers from Charlotte County.
C. To promote good fellowship among retired school employees.
D. To encourage members to volunteer in educational and community
activities.
The Charlotte County Retired Educators Association welcomes all retired education staff from any state.
