Legal Stuff

Given that we are really just an informal band of keen walkers who co-ordinate a program of walks so that it is possible for us to walk together and to welcome visitors to join us, it is necessary to point out that you undertake all walks at your own risk! Some of the walks involve steep climbs, treacherous conditions or even precipitious drops, and you may be subjecting yourself to unaccustomed exertion, extreme weather conditions or even wildlife predation (some of the vegetation can be pretty vicious too!). You are responsible for your own health and safety while walking with the group, and the decision to proceed is entirely yours.

Additionally, all of our walks are over land owned by someone, and we are fortunate enough to be permitted by the various landowners in the Valley to walk on their property, and in some instances to park our cars there while we are walking. Accordingly, you indemnify the landowner from any loss you may suffer as a consequence.

Please sign the indemnity form attached below before walking - you can download it here and bring it with you on your first walk with us - but in any event you are assumed to have accepted the terms of the indemnity when joining our walks.
