Concept: Students will be able to answer who, when, where, how, why, and what questions to show understanding of key details in a text.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Conditions: Students will work on a worksheet individually and disect each part of practice sentences.
2. Performance: Students will ultimatley to be able to answer who, when, where, how, and why.
3. Criteria: Students will be able to show understanding of key details within a text.
Introduction:
Motivational Device: Before doing the lesson, or worksheets the class will watch a video called the "The Five W's Song" This song will help the students connect to what they are learning because it is catchy and they will be able to sing a long while learning.

Connection to prior learning: The class will have prior knowledge to sentence learning because the lessons before this were learning how they would use correct punctuation in a sentence and recognizing that. In this case they are now learning how to develop a sentence and what it needs to contain in order to be a sentence.

Accommodations/Modifications: If a student has ADHD or ADD they will do the presentation alone if they would like or with the help of me. If the student needs extra time they will work with their parents at home.
Multiple Intelligence(s) Addressed: Intrapersonal, the student will be challenged by watching the video but will do well with the worksheet.
Assessment: Summative- the students will take a short quiz on the five w's. They will also be asked to identify each part of the sentence and label the five w's.
