Woudschoten (Zeist, The Netherlands), April 12th-13th 2018
Over the last 30 years Conformal Field Theory has evolved into an outstanding discipline which is a melting pot of Quantum Field Theory, Category Algebra, Representation Theory, and Topology. In more recent years, a special attention was received by non-rational classes of CFTs and their associated categorical structures, which have posed many interesting and challenging problems. The mathematical interest in the subject is motivated not only by new aspects and directions in Representation Theory but also in Topology: these non-rational CFTs and their non-semisimple categories are believed to be sources of new quantum invariants of 3d manifolds that are more sensible to homotopy transformations than the usual Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants coming from rational CFTs. On the physics side, a quite challenging problem is the construction of full CFTs and their bulk correlation functions.
The idea of this 2-days workshop is to bring experts from different areas on the physics and mathematics sides that have non-rational CFTs in common, in order to exchange ideas and recent developments around structures as non-semisimple modular categories and their associated mapping-class group representations, the Verlinde formula, fusion, full logarithmic CFTs, etc.
